Danae and Mitch had the best weather for their Lucas Estate wedding. Sunshine, blue skies, and a slight breeze made for the perfect setting on their wedding day! As I drove up the winding drive, I could see all of the pieces coming together – the ceremony chairs were all set by the creek, the rental company was unloading the last of the items to the reception space, floral designer was on site, and the bridal suite was ready to go. It was the beginning of a truly magical day. 

Danae’s design inspiration stemmed from a romantic outdoor wedding in a California vineyard.  Having a California design set in Indiana was a wild idea that became the most beautiful reality thanks to Autumn Keller with Isibeal Studios and our wonderful vendor team.  We took some of the elements such as soft draping, lounge seating, vineyard cross back chairs, and a gorgeous sorbet color palette to bring this bright idea to life! Every detail was carefully thought through – the indoor tent, the florals, the place settings, the food, the ceremony… everything turned out so perfect.

There were so many moments that made this day so special! Danae’s first look with her Dad was one that struck a chord in my heart! As a mom of two girls, I could hardly hold back the tears as I watched from afar Danae’s dad get the first glimpse of his baby girl in her Vera Wang gown (oh, and the tears are coming back again as I type this).  Danae and Mitch also opted not to do a first look making her walk down the aisle that much more special.  Some other fun elements were the cigar bar and the live painter who gifted them a gorgeous painting of their ceremony.  We ended the evening with a very special surprise for the two of them – Mitch proposed on the lawn of the Planetarium on 4th of July weekend in Chicago with the fireworks in the background.  So I worked very closely with Danae’s mom to orchestrate an awesome send off at the end of the night complete with a firework exit to give them that personal touch! They had no idea it was coming!

After the wedding, we received the sweetest note and box of cookies from Danae and Mitch! I am seriously convinced we get to work with the best couple’s and the best families!
