A fresh start to the year is like a new wave of energy for some, and completely dreadful for others. Goal setting can be intimidating, but I am one who loves a fresh start. So when 2017 rolled around, I was already knee deep in some new business projects, and dreaming of others and I was ready to make this the “Year of Living on Purpose”! Then comes February and we lose momentum. I mean let’s be honest, February rolls around and we are feeling uninspired, unmotivated, or just plain tired. Can I get an AMEN?!? Today I am sharing my progress for February and how I am keeping the drive alive!!
Goal #1 Update – Growing Deeper in my Faith
Starting Steps: I have been really behind in my bible studies since we found out we were pregnant, so my first action step was to block out time everyday to get into the Word and stick to this schedule! Update: I am about 70% on this so far. Progress, not perfection. I am just feeling so much better that I am getting back into the word. I am also finding trouble scheduling this because my Chiropractor appointments are being scheduled during my old “study time”. I will get there.
My second step was to open my calendar and figure out a plan to get caught up on my studies by the next one. Update: DONE! I realized I would need to complete 5-6 lessons a day to get caught up by March 1st. So my 70% is pushing my deadline back a bit.
Goal #2 Update – More Play Dates/Fun Activities to do with Ali
Starting Steps: My main goal behind this was creating an intentional work/life balance to spend more time with the family and my first step was saying NO work on Sundays and Mondays. Update: I did not work this past Sunday and Monday, so far, so good! My Second Step was to plan out activities to do with Ali weekly. Update: While I would love to tell you that I planned out an entire monthly calendar of activities, that is most certainly not the case. I am actually still stumped for activities, but…. We are POTTY TRAINING!!! And while most moms are cringing at the thought of this (I did too at first), she is doing SO WELL and it has forced me to be more attentive to her, resulting in more time together 🙂
Goal #3 Update – Growing my Business, letting go of fear and trying new things
Starting Steps: I have been working really hard on several projects behind the scenes. One of them is blogging on a regular basis so I can share more with others. A big fear behind this was “what if no one reads it?” And you know what, that is ok. Someday these posts will be exactly what someone is looking for! My first step was to just start blogging – my goal is 3 time a week. So far, so good! Let’s keep this going!
My second step was to start an email newsletter for brides, business colleagues, mama entrepreneurs, and more. Update: Last week, I created a sign up form and I already have my design layout complete. Now I just need to pull together my content and send it out! I would love to stay connected by having you sign up for our monthly newsletter here!
