It goes without saying that COVID-19 has had quite the impact on the wedding industry. The uncertainty of the economy has left couples feeling anxious and conflicted on when and where to get married. Questions begin to surface like: What if there is a second wave? What if my venue doesn’t open? If they do open, what will the policies be? Can my guests even travel to get to my wedding?
All these thoughts have couples considering small, intimate backyard weddings at their childhood home or a close friend’s house. This idea of a backyard wedding isn’t new, but it is getting more and more popular as the year goes on – and we kind of love the idea!

Spring Wedding at Laurel Hall
To say I love this venue would be an understatement! The architecture, the grounds, the history, I love it all! And so did Winnie! Winnie and Jeff had the most beautiful romantic Laurel Hall wedding this Spring. Every time I do a wedding here, I love the challenge to make it look different than what has already been done. I am so grateful to have Jennifer Van Elk on the blog today to share a little insight into some photo tips for the Traditional Bride. Just because your wedding is traditional, it doesn’t mean your photos have to be traditional as well. Not everyone wants to have, or can have, a first look before their ceremony. Sometimes there is not enough time. Sometimes the bride and groom want to see one another for the first time at the ceremony. It should not affect the photos, either way. It should still be possible to make time to get beautiful photos on the wedding day.
